Art to Treasure Forever
Wirral based MilModa Art was created by Michelle Linger who, with qualifications in Art and Design and over 20 years experience working in the art world, wanted to create a touring gallery with high quality, original, contemporary fine art that could be appreciated not just in a static location, but by people from all over the country at chosen venues. Pop-Up Art is the name of the touring exhibitions from MilModa Art.
Michelle comments “All works are exceptional, original pieces that will look en vogue not only today but also in many years time. They are flexible to be displayed in any environment and this is why our slogan is ‘Art to Treasure Forever’”.
Michelle qualified locally from Withens Lane Art College and then continued with her studies in Liverpool obtaining a BA hons in Art History. Over the years she has built up a strong working relationship with a wide range of artists both locally, nationally and internationally. She also supports and displays emerging artists.
MilModa Art is exhibiting at the prestigious Buy Art Fair in Manchester from 28th -31st October Stand 256. In the show, amongst other artists, MilModa will be representing three highly collectable local artists Jacqui Chapman, Margaret Ransome and Nigel Morris. All their works are one-off, exclusive pieces.
Nigel Morris who has known Michelle for many years comments “This is a great opportunity for me, as I have never exhibited in the centre of Manchester before. On display will be my landscapes of North Wales in oils and my mixed-media ‘Map’ paintings relate to how we find our way around by navigating”.
Jacqui Chapman’s main theme to her painting is recalling memory and the sensation of landscape from her homeland, South Africa. Jacqui comments “I have exhibited with Michelle Linger over the past four years with great success- the Liverpool Biennial 2008 Contemporary Creatives Show was almost a sell-out. She has great enthusiasm and her knowledge about the local art market and media has been very useful to me. Michelle has an instinct for what will sell which enables an artist to trust her judgement. She is an absolute professional and a pleasure to work with”. She continues “I look forward to having Michelle exhibit my work at the Manchester Buy Art Fair in September and on the Isle of Mann in November this year”.
Margaret Ransome supports Jacqui’s statement “I am delighted to be submitting my art to Michelle Linger in the exciting opportunity of her new venture, MilModa Art. My new collection begins by defining a basic colour palette and working the bare canvas with energy and spontaneity. Within the layering of paint, subtle colours and shapes emerge. I work to develop stronger tones, extremes of light, dark and texture, whilst searching for meaning and identity and to feel an abstract presence.
Michelle continues “We look forward to meeting you on our stand to discuss your needs and we hope people in the North-West and further afield will come and support us.
